Been creating designs and resources since about 1995. Initially it was plug-ins (the 1000 filters series ‘Andrew’s Filters’ was by me back when I was living in Nijmegan, Holland) and then 1000s and 1000s of frames and nozzles.

With Photoshop 6, started to design custom shapes, brushes, patterns, styles and gradients as well as other items. Continued ever since and now up to custom shapes pack 107, brushes pack 55 and so on. Also developed quite a few plugins and symbols and swatches for use in Illustrator as well.

Outside of designing shapes and brushes, I love to travel (been to the US a few times, I live in the UK), read a lot (hope to get a Kindle shortly), love drawing and reading comics, history, watching too much TV (in particular Big Bang Theory, Murdoch Mysteries, Mad Men, Dr Who, 30 Rock and others) and meeting up with my friends in London.

The designs are all for commercial use as well as personal use, no credit required, all are royalty-free, all are designed by me (as part of my company).

Hello everyone! I am this week’s Featured Designer. My name is Erika a.k.a. PinkuPixie (pronounced ping-koo pik-see). I am a stay-at-home mom to three wonderful girls, Tatiyana, Aki’ana and Eliana, and husband Steve. Currently we reside in the UK (7 years), about 2 hours from London.  Come this December we’ll be moving to Japan. I can’t wait. I have lived and visited lots of places around the world, including Japan, Korea, Hong Kong and Paris. I hope to continue to experience new cultures and see more of the world.

I started out scrapbooking around 1999. A dear friend of mine had started and encouraged me to give it a try. I’ve always used my computer to scrapbook, whether it was printing out a title, my journaling or making scrapbook layouts for the grandparents. I went totally digital about 3 years ago and haven’t looked back. It was the best decision I made.  But I still am enjoying making cards and other crafty things. The best thing about designing for me is the feeling of accomplishment. Even the smallest thing, like creating a preview for my newest kit, gives me a sense of accomplishment. The more I feel like I am accomplishing things, the more I get motivated to design more.

The greatest reward in designing for me is seeing a fellow scrapbooker using something I made to create a layout they treasure or leaving me a nice comment on my blog. This makes me feel great and motivates me to continue designing more digital goodies.

Finally I have one piece of advice for any level of scrapbooker (and fellow designer too!) “BACK IT UP” -  always back up your data, whether it’s by using an external hard drive, CD/DVD’s, or an online company that specializes in backing up. I can’t stress this enough.
